Anti Wrinkle Injections

What are anti-wrinkle injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections involve injecting a prescription medicine called botulinum toxin A into a muscle to relax it. This prevents new lines being formed and improves the appearance of existing wrinkles, resulting in a fresher appearance. The effects typically last 3-4 months. With additional treatments, the effects may last longer. Having been used in the facial aesthetic industry for over 20 years, anti-wrinkle injections are safe and effective.

What areas are suitable for anti-wrinkle injections?

They can be used to treat forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, smoker’s lines around the mouth and gummy smiles.

What happens at my appointment?

You will be brought to a private treatment room. A thorough consultation will take place. We will take a medical history and discuss what you are hoping to achieve in order to ensure you are a suitable candidate. If you choose to go ahead, the anti-wrinkle injections are administered. The needle is extremely fine, most clients experience minimal discomfort.

What can I expect after my treatment?

There is generally minimal to no downtime after anti-wrinkle injections. Most clients return to work straight away. It is important not to touch or massage the treated area for 24-48 hours and we ask not to arrange any facials for 2 weeks. It is also advisable to avoid excessive heat in the 24 hours after treatment e.g. heat created from vigorous exercise, saunas, etc.

How long before I will see the results?

Typically, you will notice the effects of the treatment after a few days and it will reach full effect within 10 days. Extra doses are administered at a review appointment 2-3 weeks after your initial visit, if required.

Hyperhidrosis

Botulinum toxin prevents the production of sweat when it is injected into the superficial layers of skin. This is a fantastic treatment for people embarrassed by excessive sweating. Common areas to treat are the armpits, palm and feet. This treatment typically lasts 4-6 months, but with repeated treatment, the injections may last longer.
